Six public promises · July 2026
What we
will not
compromise.
July 2026
These are not brand values. Brand values are written by committees and forgotten by lunchtime.
These are written down, signed by the founder, and made public so they are harder to forget.
A promise is only useful if someone can point to it.
The dating and singles-events industry has spent twenty years making the same promises and breaking all of them.
01Volumeovercuration.
02Retentionoverresults.
03Algorithmsoverpeople.
We've watched the dating space consolidate around a few large platforms. We've watched apps optimise for engagement rather than outcomes. We've watched events brands ignore gender imbalances, copy each other's formats, and call it innovation.
The Dalloway Project exists because we believe something different is possible. These pledges are how we hold ourselves to that belief.

Six clauses.
No quiet exceptions.
Each clause applies to every event, every format, and every decision made under The Dalloway Project name.
-
Never sell out.
The industry's KPIs want you single. Ours want you changed by the room.
-
Challenge the defaults.
The dating and friendship industry is shaped by a small number of large platforms, and their incentives rarely line up with better outcomes. We want to make room for other ways of meeting.
-
No room within the room.
No regulars who own the space, no insiders, no hierarchy based on how many times you've attended. Every event starts equal.
-
Design for the exit.
Every format we build is designed to send people somewhere else. If our events stop working, we'll be the first to say so.
-
Honest about what we don't know.
We're testing whether this changes how people meet. We don't know if it will. We won't pretend otherwise until we do.
-
Always human, never algorithmic.
No algorithm will decide who gets in, who gets matched, or what happens in the room. Every decision is made by a person. That won't change.
Signed and meant
This only counts if you can call us on it.

If what we build contradicts these promises, say so. This page is a public record, not decoration.
